Victory and Vyansa in SOM tonight

Male', MALDIVES - Vyansa and Victory Sports Club would be playing for the season opening shield tonight. Vyansa who is seeded as the top ranked club for last season would be playing in their first season opening match. Victory Sports Club would be playing in tonight's match as the second ranked team.

Victory Sports Club's assistant coach, Ali Suzain said to maldivesoccer.com that it would be an important match for the club.

"We want to win tomorrow's match and in my opinion it would be an easy match. We also want to win tomorrow night's match and to be the team that wins the most number of season opening matches"

Meanwhile, Vysansa's coach Mohamed Nizam said that they would also be playing for a win.

"We consider it to be an important match. We would go out with the best players but they might not be able to show their 100%. However, we would improve as the season progress".

"If we win the match, the motivation of the players would improve dramatically. That's why I don't think tomorrow's match would be an easy one" Nizam explained.

Both teams have brought a lot of changes for the season. A lot of youngsters have joined the club including players who participated in AFC Under 19 tournament held in Thailand and some experienced players including Ahmed Naaz (Aakey), goal keeper Athif and Anwar Abdul Ghanee.

However, Anwar would not be able to play until Dhiraagu Dhivehi League, since he has not recovered from the injuries.

The only player who left the team is Saudhullah Kamaal who was the defensive hub of the team.

Meanwhile it is believed that all the players who joined this season for Victory would be included in the starting lineup including Ibrahim Fazeel (Oppo), Ismail Mohamed (Issey) and Fareedh Mohamed.

Even though foreign players are included in the team lists it is believed none of the players would be in the starting lineup for tomorrow's match.
